Overview of Huawei Pocket 2
The upcoming Huawei Pocket 2 comes in three colors: classic black, Dark Purple with a leather-like texture, and Rococo White with a marble-inspired finish.
Last year, Huawei introduced two foldable devices that open horizontally, named the Mate X3 and Mate X5. However, they didn’t release any foldable models that open vertically. The most recent vertical foldable offering was the Huawei Pocket S, which came out in late 2022. Now, a new model is in the works, with early images recently shared by the leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo.
The phone’s rear panel will have two cutouts, one for the main camera and another for the secondary display, similar to its predecessors. This secondary OLED display will be 1.04 inches with a resolution of 340 x 340 pixels, matching the P50 Pocket and Pocket S.
The main camera cutout will house three lenses, but specific details about these lenses haven’t been disclosed. However, considering the P50 Pocket and Huawei Pocket 2, these foldable phones had a 40MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. Additionally, the regular Huawei P50 had a unique 32MP camera that worked in the ultraviolet spectrum.
There’s a possibility that Huawei may unveil the Pocket 2 alongside the upcoming Huawei P70 series. This speculation stems from the precedent set by the P60 series, which debuted in March last year. However, it’s important to note that Pocket series releases typically occur later in the year.
We’ll provide more details as soon as they become available. Stay tuned.
