Alyssa Milano hails from an Italian-American family, with her mother, Lin Milano, being a fashion designer, and her father, Thomas Milano, a film music editor. Born in a working-class neighborhood in Brooklyn, she grew up in a modest house on Staten Island. At the age of seven, Alyssa’s journey into the entertainment world began when she was chosen from 1500 other girls during an open audition for the first national tour of “Annie,” accompanied by her babysitter who was an aspiring dancer. After 18 months on the road, Alyssa left “Annie” and ventured into off-Broadway productions and television commercials, earning a reputation as an energetic and charismatic young actress.
